Hi all. I'm writing to announce the availability of a preview release of VoxBo
1.8.5. This release contains just binaries for Linux, OSX/Intel, and OSX/PPC.
The code in this release has been running stably at the Penn CfN, and I think it
will be the most stable VoxBo release yet.

Draft release notes for 1.8.5 are available at:

http://voxbo.org/wiki/index.php/Release_1.8.5

The release itself can be downloaded from the NITRC web site -- click on the
download link on the following web page:

http://www.nitrc.org/projects/voxbo/

Each archive just contains one directory, within which are all the binaries.
Run them from there, or put them wherever you like. No special permissions are
needed. For OSX, the graphical tools are in .dmg files, which you will then
need to unpack separately in the usual way.

The reason I'm releasing this as a "preview" is that I wanted to get some of the
useful code out there sooner without having to do a lot of the packaging stuff
associated with a full release. So for right now, you have to download
everything in one big archive, even if you just want one binary, and the cygwin
and older-linux distributions aren't built yet. Also no source yet. All of
these issues will be resolved soon, but in the meantime there's no reason not to
use it.

Please let me know if you have any comments, suggestions, bugs to report, or any
other kind of feedback. I may not be very responsive to email next week, but I
will be back the following week, and there's still plenty of time to get new
features into the final 1.8.5 release.
