Yes, the -n flag counts how many of the input masks had non-zero data
in each voxel. And if you load that output mask in vbview, those mask
numbers will indeed be the overlap count for that region. If you want
to use a continuous range for the mask rendering values in vbview, you
can load the overlap map as a stat map under the Stats menu. In some
recent versions of vbview, you can set the color range by
double-clicking on the color bars at the top of the "Stat Map" pane
(the one that comes and goes with F7).
