Hello all,

I had a question regarding the voxel count reported by the vbxts tool. When I ran the vbxts tool using the following command

vbxts -g /jet/kimj/tbipilotcontrols/tac013/SA_2back/glm_6parts_intercept_norm -m /jet/kimj/masks/2back/ROIs/DorsalCingMedialPremotor/BilateralDorsCingMedPremotor.cub -x

I saw the following output generated by vbxts:

[I] vbxts: mean scaling: no
[I] vbxts: detrending: no
[I] vbxts: region BilateralDorsCingMedPremotor.cub (2670 voxels)

Note that the region is reported to contain 2670 voxels

Now, when I ran this command for a different glm using the same mask:
vbxts -g /jet/kimj/tbipilotcontrols/tac014/SA_2back/glm_6parts_intercept_norm -m /jet/kimj/masks/2back/ROIs/DorsalCingMedialPremotor/BilateralDorsCingMedPremotor.cub -x

I saw the following output:

[I] vbxts: mean scaling: no
[I] vbxts: detrending: no
[I] vbxts: region BilateralDorsCingMedPremotor.cub (2365 voxels)

Note that the voxel count is now reported as 2365 voxels, even though I used the same mask region.

When I used vbmaskcompare to check the voxel count, it reported a voxel count of 2738 voxels, which is the same count I get when I load the mask image data in matlab and sum the data array.

Am I misinterpreting the meaning of the voxel count reported by vbxts? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sunil
