[VoxBo] single covariates - r vs t values

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but...
As far as I understand it, when you set up a single covariate, you're
testing for each voxel the correlation between the BOLD signal and the
value for that time specified by the reference function.
Then, you look for voxels that are statistically significant - they
have a t value above some threshold.
What happens to the r value in all of this? I've always been under the
impression that that's orthogonal. Is there a way to know the r for a
voxel as well?
