Hi all. I've put out pre-release replacements for vbstatmap and vbhdr
(link below), for linux only right now. Note that the Linux version
will probably not work on very old distributions -- we're going to
split the linux build into a "modern" and a "legacy" version, and this
is just the modern version. The legacy version should come soon, as
will OSX and Cygwin.
vbhdr how accepts the -x and -z options to set the origin and/or voxel
sizes. It will also now work more reliably if you want to make
several header changes at once.
vbstatmap now propagates headers from the prm file, so it should have
your correct voxel sizes and origins if all goes well.
There's another more important change to vbstatmap, which is that it
calculated FDR thresholds differently. In the original Genovese et
al. article, they suggested two possible values for one of the
parameters for the FDR calculation, namely c(V). We previously used
the more conservative of the two. However, Tom Nichols says on his
web site it's safe to use the more liberal, and I believe that's what
SPM uses. So we now set c(V) to 1, giving you better FDR thresholds
(and you will now get thresholds for some situations where you
previously may not have).
This is a pretty significant change, and we'll highlight it again when
1.8.4 is out as a full release. But in the meantime, you can enjoy
the more liberal FDR thresholds with this version.

You'll know you're using the new version if the help screen has
today's date.
